The Messengers of Light is looking for volunteers for a variety of functions. We always have a demand for fundraisers such as grant writers or event coordinators.
It is great to make financial contributions but more important is the generosity of the individual to donate their time and effort. Volunteers are the backbone of success and they play an essential role at The Messengers of Light, complementing the work of the local educators and care-workers.
The Messengers of Light couldn’t do all our programs without the work of people here in the USA. We have individual, corporate and special events fundraising committees. We are currently seeking volunteers for the following:
- Coordinate development and production of marketing materials
- Participate in a fundraiser committee
- Research grant opportunities
- Write grants (experience preferred)
- Manage product sales at fundraisers, boutiques etc.
- Manage ongoing volunteer opportunities and recruit volunteers
Volunteer Vacation Program
We anticipate a volunteer vacation program starting 2015. As a volunteer with the Sitio IpeTajy Project in Brazil you will have the chance to make a real impact whether you are teaching English, working with orphaned children at Sitio IpeTajy kid’s Camp in Brazil. Our volunteers use their skills to help the children with sports, reading and writing, music, art and computing among other things. Depending on preference and aptitude, volunteers will work mainly with young children in Day Center project.
Maintenance work and general administration in the office would also be welcomed for those with the correct skills. We also offer Portuguese Language assistance to help you learn the local language and custom. Volunteers are required to raise funds to meet the expenses of the project.
