We won the Lottery

We won the Lottery

Dhamma Wisdom

WE WON THE LOTTERY!  No matter how bad things are going during the daily life, we must always look at it from the big picture. Here is a small list of events that brought us here to this day:

The IMPERMANENT Universe

🔭 UNIVERSE: It contains billions of different galaxies, some galaxies are on collision course. Each galaxies has billions of unique stars most with billions of orbiting  planets. Most planet orbiting the stars are unstable, Less than 3% of a gas cloud actually make a star, Most places kill life instantly. —  heat, radiation, cold, orbits brings you near a supernova, or black holes. The good news: Universal elements carbon, nitrogen, helium, oxygen, iron are found in the entire Universe.

🔭 Universe After Thought: Every atom in our body came from a Super Nova, a star that was kind enough and exploded. And, the atoms in the left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing there is in Astrophysics: We are all stardust. You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded, because the elements – the carbon, nitrogen, helium, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution and for life – weren’t created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars, and the only way for them to get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode. So, forget Jesus. Moses and Mohammed. The stars died so that we all could be  could be here today.

🌎 EARTH : All material in the Universe like energy, matter, life, [only ice-cream and stupidity can be found on Earth] tectonic plates shift, asteroids and meteorrites hitting Earth frequently, earthquakes, droughts, floods, tornadoes, and other natural disasters which kill thousands of innocent humans every year. The surface is 2/3 is uninhabitable; Mass extinctions, disease / climate shift; Over 98% of all live ever existed is now extinct; it took 3 to 5 Billion years to make multi-cellular life.

🏥 HUMANS : Our bodies replace many of their nearly 30 trillion human cells regularly, while the DNA remains. About 330 billion of those cells are replaced every day—that’s about 1 percent of all our body’s cells. Medical researchers determined that the average age of all cells in the human body is 7 to 10 years. Cells in our colon are replaced every three to five days, skin cells 2 to 4 weeks, our muscle and fat cells can take up to 70 years to renew, liver 150 to 500 days, bones a full 10 years. The mind is another factor of impermanence with an estimated 6,200 thoughts bubbles every day, depending on various individual factors such as age, gender, stress, or environment.

🏥 DNA Explained: All living organism contain Deoxyribonucleic acid, commonly known as DNA that serves as the fundamental blueprint for all living organisms on Earth. This information dictates how cells function and what an organism looks like.  The primary function of DNA is to store and transmit these genetic information. This molecule ensures that traits are passed down in heredity process. As living conditions are impermanent and change all the time, DNA also changes through various mechanisms, including degradation, molecular rate changes, genetic drift and others.  These changes are influenced by factors such as replication timing and evolutionary pressures, leading to significant variations in mutation rates across different species and time scales. Evolution is the result of many small steps with a multitude of genetic decision patterns. This process is directional, purposeful and problem oriented. ‘We are what we were.’  Maybe the DNA also contains Dharma information to achieve liberation?

🏥 Humans are confronted with polio, encephalitis, cerebral palsy, brain cancer, blindness, dementia,Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, ALS, leprosy, Alzheimer’s, Fast Food and other incurable illnesses to afflict millions of people most of whom are decent people.  We warm blooded must constantly eat vs. cold blooded. We are unable to detect magnetic or ionizing radiation fields, radioactive, colorless, odorless, tasteless, add Famine, Calamities, War, Enslaving, Rape, Genocide. A pretty bad designer at work.

😈 Generation Exercise: A new analysis of DNA from ancient modern humans (Homo sapiens) in Europe and Asia has determined, more precisely than ever, the time period during which Neanderthals interbred with modern humans. Most likely in some cave disco only 2500 generations ago or about 50,000 years ago and lasting about 7,000 years — until Neanderthals began to disappear. (100 years = 5 generations, 50 K years = 2500 generations)  That interbreeding left Eurasians with many genes inherited from our Neanderthal ancestors, which in total make up between 1% and 2% of our genomes today.

🤯 THE AMAZING BRAIN: Walnut shaped, four pounds and several thousand miles of interconnected nerve cells (about 100 billion) control every movement, thought, sensation, and emotion that comprises the human experience. Within the brain and spinal cord there are ten thousand distinct varieties of neurons, trillions of supportive cells, a few more trillion synaptic connections, a hundred known chemical regulating agents, miles of minuscule blood vessels, axons ranging from a few microns to well over a foot and a half in length, and untold mysteries of how— ALMOST flawlessly—all these components work together (sometimes).

💂‍♀️DARWIN: As many more individuals of each species are born than can possibly survive; consequently, there is a frequently occurring struggle for existence, it follows that any being, if it vary however slightly in any manner profitable to itself under the complex and sometimes varying conditions of life, will have a better chance of surviving, and thus be naturally selected. Mutations are directional, purposeful and problem oriented. “WE ARE WHAT WE WERE”. From the strong principle of inheritance, any selected variety will tend to propagate its new and modified form. The sample principle is also applying for humans turning on each other. ☠️

💝 The total number of people who have ever been born is about 100 billion. The genetic code that generates a viable versions of us is capable of at least 1032 variations until we see a double of ourself. That is an Astronomically huge number 1 is a one followed by 32 zeros providing 1 million trillion trillion possible souls. Our branch in the tree of life has produced only 0.00000000000000001% of all possible humans. That is forcing the conclusion that most people who could ever exist, will never be conceived. Each of us, like every snowflake, every face, every penguin or lady bug is unique in the universe now, and forever.

💝 Unlike a movie, The chances of us being here as us, that sperm hitting that specific egg at that specific moment is 400 trillion to one. It’s incredible that we’re here and then we die never to exist again. Life is very precious and will end one day. Once you realize you are not going to be around forever it makes life so much more magical. Once you realize that will be one day when you have your last meal, smell your last flower, hug your friend for the last time. you may not know that is the last time. So that is why you should do everything you love, treasure a few years you’ve got because that is all there is.  Said Ricky Gervais :

💝 Reflecting on these tremendous odds, this is the time to celebrate being alive, a time to celebrate every waking moment. WE WON THE LOTTERY !!!!

💝 It brings our own story of individual dramas in a much different context.  Along the way, why not make this place a better world for all of us who plays today than yesterday, having to live simply for the privilege of having lived on earth.

⛪️ AFTERTHOUGHT: The god that our neighbors believe in is essentially an invisible person. This creator deity designed the universe, the billions of galaxies with billions of stars and billions of planets. All this to have a special relationship with one species of primates – lucky us. This (Abrahamic) god got galaxies to attend to, but he is watching what we do every minute of the day and he’s especially concerned with what we do while we are naked! And on Sunday – his day off – we ask him for all kinds of favors.
